Robotat, first in 1995 with Rockabilly and Surf Music foundations in Istanbul, was born with the name Rumblefish. For 8 years, it had kept Surf music and enhanced it and had an important place in the history of Rock N Roll in Turkey.

Rumblefish, had went ahead with it’s music life in company with Devrim Salgut until 2003 upon the original frame. After breakup of the group, Devrim Salgut had kept to maintain his passion in another area of Rock N Roll. He kept alive the motorcycle and it’s culture in his classic motorcycle restoration workshop in Istanbul and had an distinctive place by bringing together old motorcyles that he had broght to life in this area and the road with the wind Especially in his BMW motorcycle models restorations were exhibited in national and international fairs. He re-created his classic model BMW R 60/6 for himself and personified it by giving it the name of Robotat, he transformed it into an unprecedented spirit and originality in Turkey. I bought incidentally the Robotat from Devrim and our growing friendship lead to new ideas upon music. Even though he knows that making good music is to select the poverty under the conditions in Turkey, by reviving the Rumblefish spirit and reflecting it to the culture of motorcycle so today with the name of Robotat Surf Band, confronts the rock roll fans.
