Usually, onboarding flows act as a bridge between the epic monument of a product that the team has created (legit months of work of design & tech) and the users. Now, if the journey/bridge is long (sometimes even after trimming, you require those many inputs for your product to bring value to the users), It needs to be engaging so that the users don't leave it halfway (Drop-offs). In such cases, don't hold back on effort & feel free to innovate. Don't let the design system be a hurdle, help it evolve.
