Wistia's New(ish) Accessible Video Player
You might not have been able to tell from our Dribbble account, but we've been busy the past year or so! And it's high time for us to start catching up on sharing that work.
If you frequent the Wistia blog, you'll recognize this from way back in January. That's when we updated our video player to be much more accessible.
There were visual updates, including changing the opacity of the control buttons and eliminating the transparency of the progress bar, as well as updates to the customize options for Wistia users. One of the bigger changes there was a high-contrast color-picker to help users adhere to WCAG AA 2.1 guidelines.
In addition to the visual changes that were made, the updates included adding in Audio Descriptions. And all the changes were highlighted in the app with a new, easy-to-use checklist that made accessibility a seamless part of our customize workflow.
Read all about it! And stay tuned as we share more of what we've been up to this year.
