My Skin Is My Logo
Been listening to When I Get Home by Solange on a loop again and I’ve realized until now how this lyric makes even more sense to me just by being a graphic designer, ha! What a legendary statement. 🤯 And I think it shouldn’t just be taken as something related to skin color but also how we present our identities using skin as a canvas: tattoos, piercings, wrinkles, and birth/age spots. And even though as in design, a logo doesn’t represent the whole identity of a brand, I think skin is one of the most important elements of our identity and it’s also our first letter of introduction. So let’s embrace the skin we live in and ALWAYS be proud of ourselves. ✊🏼✨🔥
