Speculum sine macula

This illustration is dedicated to my friend, who is barber and loves rock&roll style. The "perfect mirror" or "Speculum sine macula" is one of my favourite metaphors. The mirror is traditionally associated with virgin Mary, as a symbol of her divinity and purity (sinlessness). In this project I mixed two characters - The Madonna and Santa Muerte. Standing in front of death is like standing in front of the perfect mirror- the moment when we all see ourselves most clearly.
