Las Invensiones de Hércules Florence

Born in 1804 in Nice, settled in Brazil from a young age, he was one of the inventors of photography.

In Brazil, in 1833, Hercules Florence created an image fixation process, which he called photographya. This happened almost simultaneously with the discoveries in Europe by Niépce, Daguerre and Talbot. His invention, primarily, was used to reproduce dimplomas, pharmaceutical recipes, labels, etc.

Two other relevant inventions are also attributed to him: zoophonia (to reproduce the sounds of animals, a precursor to bioacoustics) and polygraphia (similar to mimeograph, a printing system).

An editorial package Hercules deserves. His experiments in Brazil and his breakthrough in photography and printing really attract attention. The quality of the photograph and the image are remarkable.
