Urania´s Mirror

It is a set of 32 cards with astronomical images published in November 1824. The illustrations were taken from the book “A celestial atlas” by Alexander Jamieson but with the addition of a series of holes. Therefore, when placing the illustrations in front of a light source, a representation of the stars that make up different constellations can be seen.

This work belonged to the Reverend Richard Rouse Bloxam.

Astronomy and editorial on the same page. We cannot miss a seriff typeface and the romanticism of these baroque illustrations, full of stellar magic to represent an editorial line of costellations. Ornaments from the typographic and their positions. Legibility first.
