Instagram Redesign w/Categorized Feeds
Like many others, I felt some type of way about the recent instagram update where marketization seemed to take priority over seeing the people we care about.

Take back control of your feed with Lists that you can curate and categorize your stories + feed to, with preferences for the contacts within the list (so you can make one to be petty, or perhaps as a business use case to keep track of your most loyal customers ❣️). The feature I want to draw attn to is the List Preference to toggle showing your posts on the top of those designated contacts' feeds - this could be hidden behind a paywall such as Tinder premium does it with giving your profile higher priority above others.
I think simple ways to reduce the mysterious Blackbox aLgOrIthm way of ordering content on feeds could help with the friction of not having a chronological feed. There's also something to say about a non chronological feed contributing to random interval rewards (slot machine logic) to keep users tuned in and unable to anticipate reasonable time to check in for updates from their people, but that's a whole other conversation.
+ added features include categorized stories that you click twice to enter (once to open, once to see story) with the hope that added friction could reduce mindless scrolling
+ the same categories for stories also apply to our feeds so that we can efficiently view the updates we care to see
+ lastly the upper and lower nav disappears on scroll for max viewing exp
