Aegean Airlines - Website Adaptation for WCAG
Three years ago, as a former designer at ATCOM, I was fortunate enough to do the research and the UI design adaptation for the website of Aegean Airlines, based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards.
The website had to be fully accessible to all by complying with the many and diverse requirements provided, regardless of impairment or disability. The adaptation of the design followed an in depth research, and the 'switch colour mode' functionality was designed to provide sufficient contrast to people with different types of visual impairments.
Furthermore, full navigation access by the keyboard only, alternative text to the images and other theme-specific techniques were implemented, providing the best user experience possible.
I am really grateful for the support and trust of Gregory Papadopoulos, who was the Creative Director of the team.
