PHYSICALLY DISTANT - SOCIALLY CONNECTED

My poster won first prize* at the 2020 WHY festival.
*jury decided to choose two posters as the winner of the contest which mine is one of them.

Contest brief:
To stay away from each other is the hardest thing for human beings, as it goes against our nature, especially when it comes to difficult times. The natural survival instinct pushes us to stay together. When we are afraid, or under stress, when we are going through a hard change in our lives we lean on our beloved ones, we hold hands and hug, we talk and try to support each other. Being present for one another in the moment of hardship is one of the most important functions of the community.

The Jury's statement:
Swimming together in the same sea without touching each other, spaced apart, forced into boxes, but together, in a single flow that holds together, distant but connected, without distinction, children and adults, young and old, rich and poor, united by a migratory movement that takes the group elsewhere, so that it can survive, overcome danger, face fear, break the isolation.
In Behnam Azizi's poster we found a story, graphically well thought out, which pushes the gaze from top to bottom, in the succession of letters and in the fluid movement of the fish, in which each, with the body marked by the red color, is at the same time comparable to the others and absolute center of representation, and moves in a space devoid of depth and points of reference in which, disoriented but guided by the group, one can only proceed together.
