Zadig & Voltaire - A poet in a bottle

Zadig & Voltaire weren't happy with their current "This one is for her/him" perfume design. So they challenged creators from the Benelux to redesign their iconic bottle.

I participated in this challenge. The insight that lead me to create this visual for the front of the bottle is the fact that the brand is named after a witty charming writer and philosopher, Voltaire being his nom de plume, and one of his famous works Zadig. But that was never mentioned or marketed by Zadig & Voltaire before.

So since 'Voltaire' has been someone's alter-ego 300 years ago, I decided to pay an ode to him in modern times, with a witty word pun.
