Common Courtesies

I started the lettering concept for this painting four or five months ago, as my aunt worked frantically to finish renovating her garage into a guest house fit for all of the family members who planned to attend Thanksgiving at her home in 2013. She made it absolutely clear that we should all feel free to visit and put it to use.

That welcoming attitude inspired me to create something to capture one of the simplest (often one of the easiest to forget) courtesies we can offer each other: a safe and comfortable resting place that is always available, no matter the circumstances.
