November 5 - Guy Fawkes Day
"Remember, remember the fifth of November!!!"
Have you ever heard that rhyme?
"Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, 'twas his intent
To blow up the King and the Parliament"
He was caught 415 years ago today on November 5, 1605. Today November 5 is known as #GuyFawkesDay or #BonfireNight. To celebrate, there are bonfires and fireworks all over Great Britain. Kids also build Guy Fawkes statues/scarecrows that they will then set on fire on Bonfire Night. They will then ask you "Penny for the Guy" to raise money to buy fireworks.

HOW TO CELEBRATE GUY FAWKES DAY -
• BUILD A BONFIRE - For weeks leading up to Guy Fawkes Day, neighborhoods pile their old furniture and junk in designated areas and then burn them on Bonfire Night.
• TEACH YOUR KIDS THE CLASSIC NOV. 5TH RHYME - I only knew the title of this rhyme. It was fascinating to read the whole thing.
• WATCH V FOR VENDETTA - The film recounts the crusade of V, a Guy Fawkes costumed anarchist and freedom fighter.
