Eric Holthaus is a former columnist for Grist, Slate & the Wall Street Journal who is known for his global climate activism & his incredible book on climate change, "The Future Earth"

Followers of Eric's can now hear from the author directly through his new Substack channel, "The Phoenix" https://thephoenix.substack.com/

I was inspired by the textures of Eric's book cover & wanted to create something that mirrored the same hopefulness.

Eric & I were on the same page with this design - we didn't want to fatigue readers with another depressing visual impression.

Just as his book, "The Future Earth" was Eric's love letter to the world, we wanted the brand of "The Phoenix" to carry that same message of hope for the future. I think we managed it :)
