Weirdtober 002/031: Jean Grey & The [Dark] Phoenix!! 👩🏻‍🦰👖📂🦹‍♀️🦹🦅🔥🧠 - “I sense tremendous chaos in this place.”

Yes, another one of my favorite heroes, and it’s only the second ‘day.’

Always loved Jean, and especially loved her as Dark Phoenix (another failed movie adaptation (x2, too)). From the cartoon, to movies, video games, and comic books, she’s a badass 🔥✊

I remember reading the Dark Phoenix saga when I was younger in our city library. So awesome. I hit up the comic book section with my brother every time we went. ☺️🤓 I fell in love with the nerdy-geeky stories, but also the gorgeous artwork. 💕

So many great storylines, and costumes, which I ran into that issue again this time around. Went with her 90s comic and cartoon look, and then the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix. I wanted to keep making variations but I had to stop myself again.

Who’s next? I don’t know. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m keeping it cool and relaxed this year, more so than last years. Just messy-sketching away what I love. 💕 I’ve got a list and I stare at it until either someone pops out to me (like Jean did) or I just sketch and see what happens (like Storm). 🤷🏻‍♀️✌🏼
