πŸŒ™ Melinda and the Night Sky πŸŒ™ "Say It's So"

So excited to collaborate again with Melinda, Kristian on their band's second single cover for "Say It's So"! AH! Love this one so much, too!!!

SIS has a more moody vibe to compared to Say What You Mean – more vibrant – listening to the song on repeat throughout a long drive, I picked up on images of words and things like – prophet, future, lost, regret, love, forever, hermit, dream, desire, sadness, longing, etc.

From there I wanted to take those moods and feeling and incorporate them into our 'MCU' [marvel cinematic universe for non-nerds/geeks] layout, breaking up the arch, adding in lilacs [growth/progress], purple hyacinths [regret], Iris [hope], zinnia's [longing], along with ravens – the ones who foretell the disaster and grief coming, but they also represent guidance, partnerships, prophecy, insights, and the third eye... and survival!

The main character of this one is a play on the Tarot Hermit. She's searching for what was lost; the hermit suggests that you are in a phase of introspection where you are drawing your attention inwards and looking for answers within. You are in need of a period of inner reflection.

And, a butterfly, just barely at the edge of the frame, waits to be found, completing the resurrection and transformation from what is gone.

In the words and tone of Willem Dafoe in Boondock Saints "Symbolism"! 😊

And, don't forget to stream Say It's So, plus Say What You Mean!!!
