Added to the fear of contracting the virus in a pandemic such as COVID-19 are the significant changes to our daily lives as our movements are restricted in support of efforts to contain and slow down the spread of the virus. Faced with new realities of working from home, temporary unemployment, home-schooling of children, and lack of physical contact with other family members, friends, and colleagues, it is important that we look after our mental, as well as our physical, health.
People very close to me have had emotional problems in recent weeks due to the current situation and the isolation, thinking on that I thought it's very important to make the problem visible to create awareness, but how can we track or better yet, try to relieve any issues related with our mental health?.
I try to create an auto-help app to track our mood as well as try to give ideas of very basic activities to relax and distract our mind or day to day problems, I talked with some M.D. friends and Psychologists to understand how to recognize when an emotional state could be the symptom of something bigger, and to track it to be aware of the problem.
