Yang Zhou Global Home Container Project
I was approached by UGM (Universal Good Music) to be part of a Global Home Container project located in a campsite near Yang Zhou, in China.
The commission was to create a 2.50m (H) * 17m (W) mural that will wrap around one of the ten home containers that are part os this project.
This illustration focus on the natural spaces and species preserved in Yang Zhou and what I believe makes the city so beautiful and magical.
It was inspired by the Slender West Lake, a scenic lake and national park in Yangzhou City, and some of its most iconic structures.
I also celebrate the Chinese culture, their unique identity as well as all the efforts to preserve its biodiversity and traditions.
I wanted to convey harmony and tranquility with a detailed piece full of organic shapes in a composition that was able to engage the viewer as he got closer and closer to the container.
For the color palette, I choose mainly pastel colors because they have a dual personality. While able to retain the vibrancy and brightness of color that other muted tints often lack, pastels are also renowned for their ability to soothe and calm the viewer.
I’m so honored to have had the opportunity to participate in such an important project along with 9 other creatives from all around the world. Celebrating Yang zhou’s roots and natural beauty was a memorable experience!
