*teaching moment** I often get asked about how I come up with inspiration for passion projects. And this is how I answer: 1. Choose something you are genuinely interested in! What is something that is already a big part of your life? For me, running 🏃🏻‍♀️ is huge thing that I’ve been into for years and do on an almost daily basis. I love it. Notice small or “normal” day to day things you do and use that as inspiration (certain foods, routines, a building you always walk past, etc). 2. Notice things that really resonate with you and collect them! It could be a color palette on a pillow, a cool neon sign from a restaurant, a song that makes you feel a certain way, etc. Hold onto these things and let them inform your artistic style. 3. Now that you have some content and style inspiration, think of how you could turn those ideas into a real life “dream project” that you would love to do. It could be a logo design, a tshirt illustration, an entire branding system, etc. 💙those are my 3 steps to making a passion project! Here I illustrated some running gif stickers for a dream project of working with Nike Run Club. I used colors I’ve collected over the years that make me feel excited and childlike and put my twist on what I would do if I worked for Nike to make gif stickers💗 👟
