Sihuehuet
I was invited to be part of a collaborative exposition alongside other 17 illustrators titled Quimera, exhibited in local restaurant Boca Boca. The exhibition consisted in exposing different pieces inspired by Salvadoran culture.
Sihuehuet —‘beautiful woman’ in Nahuatl— is an icon and one of the greatest references in local mythology. Legend has it that this woman —also known as the moon goddess— possessed an exuberant beauty; of brown skin like the mud that sustains the great ancestral temples, of long mane sprouting on her back like foundations of fresh water; caretaker of forests and animals, mother of the night and natural heritage, the Sihuehuet is the queen of mystery and the author of abnormal events.
