malluable udemy project - Brainstorming

The following project was a free exercise presented as a part of the Graphic Design Masterclass course on Udemy from Lindsay Marsh (check it out here: udemy.com/course/graphic-design-masterclass-everything-you-need-to-know/).

For this exercise, one was to design a logo for a lifecoaching company owned by Sophia Green. The name was alreday defined by Lindsay, so I used it to create my own design. Lindsay’s idea behind the name malluable: malleable – “(of a metal or other material) able to be hammered or pressed into shape without breaking or cracking.”

Brainstorming Part:
I decided to consider a different wordplay from what Lindsay used since the word “malluable” contains the word “mall” and ryhmes with “valuable”.

Modern phrase “shopping mall” was derived from the old meaning of the word, presenting “the busiest street in the town”, hence being the heart of a business of every town.
Skyscrapers seemed like an interesting idea to showcase a modern “mall”.

A diamond was to represent something of a high value and one possibility was to play with the shape of a letter “V”, combining it with the shape of a diamond.
