Book cover design and illustration

The concept for the cover was primarily inspired by the following quotes from the book introduction (these are free translations):

‘The stories tell themselves’

’On the other side of the skin, life flows in its splendour, desolation and mystery'.

'Time dramatises the stories so you fall asleep little by little or, perhaps, so you wake up at once.'

'And so everything happens in the meantime, between always and never, somewhere between your wakefulness and your sleep.’
