Charlotte Pitmasters Home Cap Logo

Charlotte Pitmasters home cap logo, introduced in March 2017 for Charlotte Knights Baseball. This character is an anthropomorphic Carolina pulled pork sandwich with cold slaw hair and a pulled pork mustache.

In contrast to the signature home run swing we often see in designs from Brandiose, I wanted to capture the moment when a character steps into the batter's box and calls its shot. I wanted the character's eyes to illustrate that it could see exactly where the ball needed to go.

We affectionately called this character "Smokey" and referenced BBQ smokers (Carolina BBQ traditions as a whole) when we said we were going to smoke the competition or smoke the ball over the fence.

The Charlotte Pitmasters were featured on two separate theme nights, one in 2017 and another in 2018, with merchandise sales, jersey auctions and more to help flush out the BBQ theme.
