Development of AR-glasses for people with cognitive disabilities - a bachelor thesis in technical design

Based on software developed by MemoAR that were to aid people with cognitive disabilities (dementia) with navigation.

The project provided many challenges including adapting technology and simplifying interface to the target group while developing a discrete product that users would want to wear outside.

The work included:

Several meetings with focus groups to discuss their thoughts and difficulties in everyday life,

Extensive research on dementia, and state of the art technology in the field

Meetings with microsoft consultants

Ergonomic design (eg. bone conductors for people with impaired hearing)

Surface modelling based on the outlay of each component
