Sateen Typeface Poster

Poster for the Sateen typeface.

Didone typefaces originated in France in the late 1700’s. Flourishes and high contrast give them an air of elegance and eccentricity which earns them an association with fashion. Sateen was made for the Suhana by Kalpana logo.

The goal was to make a Didone typeface which drew from Indian fashion motifs, such as the Paisley. Sateen had to be elegant but straightforward, hushed but not shy.
