The client is a local Perth video game developer who have the objective of infiltrating the international gaming market. They pride themselves in their creativity, authenticity and expression as well embrace their Australian nationality. The games in production are well honed in on storytelling and narrative which they desire to share the Australian experience with the world. Many of gamers today are diverse, but unite under what they love which is a form of escapism. The voice of the brand is adventurous and embodies the tone of someone who is always seeking for more and is willing to go into uncharted territory to experience something new. They are trustworthy and authentic.

The chosen brandmark design is one of the keys to the brand, reinforcing Aboriginal Dreamtime in the potential form of the rainbow snake and the snake that formed that rivers and lakes across WA, or can double as the Swan River of Perth to symbolise the brand’s origin point, or even further, can represent the top of thought/dream bubble to represent ‘dreaming’. The Dreamtime is the closest concept you could possibly reach with the two words ‘Australian‘ and ‘Storytelling‘. The name ‘Dream Time Studios’ evokes images of expression and a dreaming state which is when the mind is the most creative. To the Indigenous Australians, it is a time of teaching and learning (Kate Owen Team 2019) which relates to the focus of the brand’s products by gathering meaning from story and narrative.
