'How to Do Nothing' by Jenny Odell – Cover Concept

I've been reading Jenny Odell's 'How to Do Nothing' lately and it's a great book for our current times. I'm certainly no luddite but being in our perpetual state of quarantine for this long has me evaluating my technological behaviors.

My cover concept focuses on the art utilized, a piece by Helen Frankenthaler, which in itself was an act of natural beauty. No technology needed when you pour paint directly on a canvas laid out on the ground. I felt like the color palette reenforced the idea of nature and the natural world, and the type is simply Akzidenz Grotesk, which doesn't make a fuss or call attention.
