WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS F.C.

‘Crest to Icon’ is a personal project to create a simple identifying icon for all twenty football clubs in the English Premier League.

Wolves’ official crest is already an icon. An extremely simple wolf head set in a hexagon. The wolf head badge first appeared in 1979 (designed by Ian Jackson) and has undergone a few iterations before the current, iconic version (redesigned by Jonathon Russell). When rebranding in 2018, London agency SomeOne wisely chose not to mess with the badge. Focusing instead on wider branding applications.
