TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR F.C.

‘Crest to Icon’ is a personal project to create a simple identifying icon for all twenty football clubs in the English Premier League.

Tottenham Hostspur’s official emblem consists of a stylised cockerel wearing spurs and resting on a ball. A cockerel was included on the shirt from 1921 after first appearing in 1909 as a copper centrepiece on the West Stand. The cockerel symbol and the club name are both derived from Sir Henry Percy (1364–1403)—also known as ‘Harry Hotspur’ and reputedly a fan of cock fighting.
