Editorial Piece - Bacteria Feasts on Toxic Plastics

This is an editorial piece created again for university. It’s based off an article from The Guardian entitled: ‘Scientists Find Bug That Feasts On Toxic Plastics’. (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/mar/27/scientists-find-bug-that-feasts-on-toxic-plastic)
I created a piece that features 3 animals, all threatened by toxic plastic particles in the ocean looking up to the bacteria that not only breaks these plastic particles down, but it also uses the particles as food and energy. I decided to veer away from my overly digital style, instead using softer painterly techniques on a digital canvas. I really enjoyed creating this piece.

ADD: The flower background is added to the final image so you can view it completely upright, the image was originally create for digital rather than print - hence it’s size.
