SHEFFIELD UNITED F.C.
‘Crest to Icon’ is a personal project to create a simple identifying icon for all twenty football clubs in the English Premier League.
The white rose of Yorkshire and two crossed blades adorn Sheffield United’s official crest. Sheffield is known historically for its steel trade which is how the club gained the nickname ‘the blades.’ I like the simplicity and composition of the current design, which has stood the test of time, but it would benefit from an update to the illustration of the blades.
