Communication Wolf Dribbble

Communication - Two wolves facing each other

The Wolf represents loyalty, good communication, strong family ties, education, understanding, and intelligence. I find that the use of the wolf to symbolize open dialogue, learning and healing in this personal journey I am on. This project is a means to find understanding within myself, and the healing journey my family is on, as we begin to strengthen our bond through now being able to finally share the hidden stories of trauma, residential school and of our spirits in and after this time.
Communication is part of a personal exploration of traditional Coast Salish shapes, stories and meanings, as I reconnect with my indigenous roots, with my family and on my own. My recent work and upcoming projects are inspired by the tentative process of reclaiming pieces of my culture through research on traditional methods and exploring new narratives by integrating contemporary use of shape, colour and symbology.
