The Chapeau Gazette No001 - Tadej Pogacar

I got inspired by Tadej Pogacars extraordinary win at this years Tour De France so I decided to create a faux branding for a sports newspaper. Inspired by the likes of Gazetta Dello Sport with it's iconic pink pages and the masthead of the NY Times - The Chapeau Gazette was born. As an imaginary french paper dedicated to the sport of cycling, the papers rich and long history of covering the grand tours as well as the spring classics is reflected in the blackletter wordmark and illustrated and engraved seal.

Chapeau, literally meaning hat in french, is a term often used in cycling circles to express admiration or respect of a fellow riders achievements, quite literally the equivalent to "hat's off".
