Alicontrol is a consultancy company in the food sector that helps its clients complying with safety and hygiene regulations. The company approached us to create a new iPad app for restaurants.

The goal was to allow its clients to register and manage compliance records digitally, instead of in paper. The users were accustomed to this paper system, so it was essential to reduce their reluctance to adoption, since the product relied on the input from the restaurant's staff.

So we adopted two main design strategies. We created a workflow with minimal number of clicks and, on the other hand, followed the users' request for a simple and fun look and feel.

The product required: several record setups with different set times and indicators; allow users to fill in reports even if the set time has passed; allow users to insert notes related to non-conformities; show past records; provide system generated reports
