Daily Logo Challenge | Day 39 - Messaging App Logo

Day 39, done! For today's #DailyLogoChallenge I had to design a logo for a messaging app.

This one felt a little similar to the recent social media app challenge so I wanted to do something quite different to that. The names we were given were 'Ping Pong', 'Bounce', 'Shout', and 'Chatya'.

To be honest, none of those names really jumped out at me so, this being a personal project with no actual client, I decided to choose my own name. Instead, I went with 'Howiya', which is a very north-side of Dublin way to greet someone.

The always correct and never controversial, Urban Dictionary, describes the word as "Irish north side version of the english equivalent chav person (male or female) that stands on talbot street corner wearing a tracksuit bought in penneys, half fag hanging out of side of mouth!".

As someone who worked on Talbot Street for 4 years, I'm not gonna disagree with that definition but for this logo, I'm defiantely going for the greeting usage.
