Children’s book illustrations for a 17 chapter young adult novel including art for colored cover, black and white chapter illustrations, character design, and content elements.

Description:
This is a story about the coming of age of a twelve-year-old Zulu boy named S’bu. The setting for the story is in Zulu country in South Africa, shortly after World War II. Although the characters and events are fictional, the story’s pathos evolves out of the context of the ancient ritualistic superstitions of the Bantu-speaking people of Africa, as they struggle to cope and understand the unwelcome intrusion of the modern scientific and moral world view.

I spent many hours of research before putting pen to paper in order to properly and respectfully represent the Zulu Tribe, located in South Africa.
