Hippie
Countercultural, libertarian and pacifist movement, born in the 60s in the United States The hippies listened to psychedelic rock, groove and rebellious folk, they embraced the sexual revolution and believed in free love. Some participated in radical activism and in the use of marijuana and hallucinogens such as LSD and other drugs with the intention of reaching altered states of consciousness; actually a way of rebelling against the homogeneity of concepts offered by the system. They also looked for forms of experience unusual at the time, such as meditation. Due to their rejection of consumerism, they used to opt for voluntary simplicity, whether for spiritual-religious, artistic, political, and environmental motivations.
