client: Austin Powder

Austin Powder has been blasting since 1833. There was an old powder keg (a wooden barrel) relic on display at the headquarters. The top of the barrel was imprinted with an illustration from 1854. It was in rough shape, but nothing some retouching couldn’t enhance.

The lip of the barrel wouldn’t allow it to be placed on a scanner, so it had to be photographed in perfect perspective to retain the perfect circle. It required a lot of perfection.

The signature on the shirt sleeve was penned by Linus Austin, one of the founding Austin brothers, circa 1840. The autograph was extracted from an original document of incorporation and vectorized for scalable fidelity.
