Stranded in Paradise

Guåhan (English: Guam) is a tropical island in the Micronesia region of the Pacific Ocean that is also an unincorporated territory of the United States of America. The local indigenous people of the island are called CHamoru (English: Chamorro). It has seen colonial occupation for many years under Spain, then eventually Japan, and America. Eventually, liberation would be declared on July 21, 1944.

Today, Guam is a popular vacation destination for many tourists, particularly from Japan, Philippines, Korea, and Russia. The tourism industry plays an important role in the island as it helps sustains it economically. Many tourists would spend money on water and beach activities, day tours around the island, and duty-free shopping.

To the tourists, Guam is a beautiful, tropical paradise with its sun and surf, but the locals know the weirdness and quirks the island has to offer. They know that Guam is not always the picture perfect paradise the tourism industry likes to showcase.
