Drewsie Original Logo Design

The Client Brief:
“I would like you to create a logo for the Mother/Holding Brand of my current Business called Drewsie Original. I have a logo for my Business Segment called Drewsie Donuts. I now need a logo for Drewsie Original.

Drewsie Original (Est. 2018)
- Lifestyle, Apparel and Accessories Brand
- Targeting Young Adults (Similar to Vans & Converse)
- Look and Feel: Classic Typography, Timeless 7 Simple
- Logo must be versatile (Able to look good on a Shirt and Cap but can also be an awesome store sign)”

First Steps:
The first step I take in Logo Design is always Research and Brainstorming ideas.
To kick off my research, I looked up various company logos, such as Vans, Converse, Levi, and similar branding/apparel brands. Right off the bat, I noticed that what these companies have in common is some of them had a badge approach to their designs and others, such as Levi, made use of simple Typography to define their brand.
The next step in my process was to do a brain dump. As a wise teacher once told me, the best way to avoid design clichés is to get them out of your system during the first stages of designing.
During my brain dump, I began the next step in my process. Conceptualizing.
Sketching out all my initial ideas gave me a lot of material to work with and alter. After revisiting the Design Brief I chose a few sketches that I wanted to run with and altered them to fit the Brief I was given.
Kayleigh, the owner of Drewsie, had chosen Draft Number 5 to be her final logo.
After creating some different colour variations for the same logo, it was all set and ready to go!
