Doc's Maritime Milkshake IPA

The creamy, cloudy milkshake IPA is a well-known style of beer nowadays. Brewed with lactose and often having fruit additions, it is a great take on the hazy IPA style.

If you've ever read John Steinbeck's "Cannery Row" you may recall the main character Doc's obsession with beer ("There's nothing like that first taste of beer," he says in the novel) and his goal of one day ordering a "beer milkshake." It would seem Steinbeck came up with the idea way back in 1945.

To commemorate Doc (a marine biologist), "Cannery Row," and Steinbeck's original idea for the beer milkshake, I designed this beer can for the fictional "Doc's Maritime Milkshake IPA." Perhaps I'll brew a batch one of these days. Here's to you, Doc.
