Little Red in the Big Woods

I used color and value to create a mood in this illustration, based on the well-known fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood. Inspired by giant sequoias, a warm palette with low lighting and exaggerated perspective invoke a feeling of both wonder and foreboding. The viewer is invited to fill in the vast murky spaces with their own imagination, and thus to wander down the path in the big woods alongside the main character.
