⚔️ Freelance Studio 2020 ⚔️

My partner and I have decided that we want to make it official, and run Freelance Studio together as we both plan to take on new roles and responsibilities. We've also recently purchased a van which we'll be sharing more of over on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. The plan is to start traveling the United States as we work full-time jobs and run Freelance Studio out of our van.

With this slight shift, we made the collective decision to revisit the identity as we start to think about how we plan to position Freelance Studio and evaluate what we want to offer moving forward. We'll continue to develop brand strategies, design scalable identity systems, and create branded product experiences–we're still working some things out, but more on that soon.

⚔️ Concept (Work in Progress)
We did some research, and in the early 1800's was the first ever mention of the word "freelance" in Sir Walter Scott's novel, Ivanhoe. In which a lord refers to his paid army of 'free lances'.

The concept was inspired by this, and the fact that we're a team of two designers, that are venturing out together and working at the intersection of two different disciplines within design is something we wanted to communicate and capture in the mark.
