One way I have found to break through creative block is to sketch what I know. I've been drawing TMNT since I was 4. That got me thinking about how simple the shapes can be and how repetitive I can be with the forms. This was a fun grid to use with a rounded plus sign as a base. What's your go-to thing you always sketch?
