It's Time to Hire Juniors.
I’m angry. Nowadays, I’m looking for a job and I’m sick of seeing how the companies demand ridiculous requirements for junior positions: from several years of experience (excuse me?) to high standards and deep knowledge. And if that were the case, a junior would easily manage the business on his own.
I’m also tired of seeing how the companies don’t understand that there is a real investment in hiring juniors: introduce new talent, tools and a new perspective in the company. Moreover, you can help seniors to save time when they’re focused on hi-level projects meanwhile the juniors (been eager to learn and contribute) will make the shitty job with a smile on. If you, as a business, hire a junior, your investment will be recompensed by loyalty and productivity very soon. Last fact: in times of crisis, to hire juniors is very cheap (more than ever with this recession).
But anyway, in spite of everything, in this country we will not invest in talent: we will keep on investing in job insecurity.
