DAY OF THE DEAD

The day of the dead is a very special tradition in Mexican culture. We celebrate the lives of the people who are no longer with us. The colors represented are very common during this holiday, mainly the yellow which represents a chrysanthemum flower that is in a way the icon of the celebration, which we cal "cempasúchil" or "cempoalxóchitl".
The skull with it's flower design is another way of representing and celebrating the dead, these are made of sugar, decorated and placed on the loved-one's grave along with their favorite food and things when they were alive.
