NiETT polymers & Wearable Technology

This illustrates an n-type metal coordinated polymer (specifically nickel ethenetetrathioloate, NiETT), which is one of the highest performing n-type thermoelectric materials, flying towards the viewer and into a futuristic wearable thermoelectric technology. This illustrates the forthcoming electronic technologies that will become possible with this (and other) thermoelectric polymers. The background is tessellated with pentagons forming hexagons, which illustrates the landscape of conjugated polymers (both 5 and 6 member rings).  A watermark of the NiETT polymer appears in the lower left to provide the chemical context to the ball-and-stick representation of the polymer.  The color scheme blends with the polymer giving the reader a sense of heat (yellow) and cold (blue).
