WHAT MAKES SOMEONE A HERO?

By definition, it means having extraordinary powers or strength and use it to do good.⁣

In difficult times, where survival becomes even more difficult to …. this pandemic, putting your life at risk in order to guarantee somebody else’s survival can be considered an extraordinary strength. ⁣

During the first months of this pandemic, many of us clapped from our windows as a sign of appreciation to the health professionals. ⁣

We witnessed their courage and dedication, how they risked -and sometimes lost- their lives to fulfill the oath they had made: save as many as they could. ⁣

The same could be said to police and military forces that delivered medicines or tried to keep the order in countries where uncertainty was taking over.⁣

But there are others, some she don’t see or don’t even considered or forget that are also putting their life at risk for our survival: ⁣

FARMERS - without them there would be no food on our plates⁣

CARRIERS & POST SERVICE - how else could we get the food, medicines, documents and letters in our homes?⁣

MAINTENANCE - without them, countries would be flooding in trash⁣

BASIC SERVICES WORKERS - electricity, mobile, water and sewer workers⁣

The list goes on: cashiers, supermarket clerks, public transport employees ….⁣

Next time you cross paths with one of them, REMEMBER. They also put their lives at risk. FOR US.⁣

We live in a society, we are not islands and we need from our community to survive. ⁣

Let’s be kind, let’s be grateful.⁣
