Washington Pigskins Alternate (concept)
Rounding out the last part of the Washington Pigskins brand, I wanted to include some connections/iconography that connected the brand with the area the plays at. Similar to how baseball tends to make these connections/hidden elements in their branding. This alternate mark was designed to be an extension of the brand, but also it can stand alone and be a possible primary.
The primary alternate is a football (pigskin connection) with a big "W" representing Washington. Within the negative space of the "W," you will find a silhouette of the Capitol Building. This not only uses a popular landmark in D.C., but also represents the area as the Nation's Capital. Three stars are also found in the logo as a nod to the D.C. flag. The elements in the logo is also reciprocated in the jersey striping, giving a twist to the current uniform set of the Washington Football Team.
