These photos document a recent trip to Ocracoke Island on the coast of North Carolina. A drive through dunes of sand along the outer banks and a ferry ride got me to my destination. Everything thing there seems tall or wide, and neutral tones from the landscape complemented bright spots of colors from bathing suits, umbrellas, and wood siding. Clouds there are at their most dramatic and their most colorful.
